About
Indian CAs are some of the hardest-working professionals in the country. Between filing deadlines, changing rules, client expectations, and an ever-expanding compliance burden, they do not have time to manually cross-reference 819 old section numbers with 536 new ones.
The Income Tax Act 2025 was notified on August 21, 2025, replacing the Income Tax Act, 1961, which governed Indian taxation for over six decades. The new Act reorganises, renumbers, and in some places consolidates the provisions of the old Act.
This tool exists to help CAs, tax professionals, and students make that transition faster. Type in an old section number and get the new one. Paste an entire working paper and get every section mapped. Share the result with a colleague. Download a PDF for your files.
What it does
- Maps old section numbers (IT Act 1961) to new section numbers (IT Act 2025)
- Provides brief descriptions and context for each mapping
- Supports bulk mapping — paste an entire document and get all sections mapped at once
- Generates shareable links for individual section mappings
- Exports results as PDF or Excel for professional use
What it does not do
- This is not legal advice. It is a reference tool.
- It does not interpret the law or provide commentary on the effect of changes.
- It does not replace reading the actual gazette notification or the text of the new Act.
- It does not cover rules, notifications, or circulars beyond the core section mapping.
- Some mappings are marked as pending verification — these should be independently confirmed.
